Actually there are four things here at Create-a-Brand that really get us excited. The first three you already know about: branding, cakes and music. However, a close fourth is receiving presents!
This week renowned artist Martin Kinnear from the Norfolk Painting School paid us a visit; he spent the day working with Dan on his new home studies E-book.
The E-book, which will be available to download at the beginning of November, explains how to achieve the same style of painting as the old masters through the mystery of many of their techniques – many of which were almost lost in time.
As a thank you for our efforts, Martin brought us this rather exceptional Turner study he painted – based on ‘the Burning of the Houses of Parliament which he painted in 1835 – Turner that is, not Martin, who doesn’t look a day older than 41.

This beautiful painting is a result of special layering, glazing and scumbling techniques that Martin specialises in on his courses.
The only problem we now have is where to hang it – Sav wants it by his desk so that ‘he can use it as a happy colour to help him beat Seasonal Adjustment Disorder’. However, Dan – who is looking more and more like Guy Fawkes each passing day- is simply staring at it, in a way that what can only be described as wistful.
If you would like to learn about these rare techniques, and get 10% off when you book a course for next year before November 30th please visit: http://www.norfolkpaintingschool.com
